Notes

Sierra larkspur (Delphinium glaucum) is a perennial for meadow gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to wet soil. Tall spires of blue and purple flowers appear in summer and attract hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Give the tall stems room at the back of the border.

Pairs well with Blue flag, Royal fern, Switchgrass, and Cinnamon fern.
