Notes

Silky prairie clover (Dalea villosa) is a subshrub for meadow plantings and dry, sandy sites. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy soil. It grows up to 20 inches tall and bears purple flowers from late spring to early summer. It needs active sand dunes to thrive and fades away when the dunes become stable.

Pairs well with Lead plant, Sand dropseed, Hoary vervain, and Porcupinegrass.
