Notes
Indigobush (Dalea formosa) is a shrub for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and dry soil of most types. It forms low, spreading mounds of silvery, finely textured leaves. Fuzzy purple flowers with a yellow petal cover it in spring and summer, and they draw butterflies and bees. It can get leggy in good soil or if fertilized, so cut it back in spring.
Pairs well with Autumn sage, False yucca, Blackfoot daisy, and Butterfly milkweed.
