Notes

Silver dollar prickly pear (Opuntia robusta) is a succulent for borders and low maintenance gardens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun and dry, sandy or loamy soil. It is drought tolerant and draws hummingbirds and birds. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Give it plenty of room, since it can reach over 15 feet tall and wide.

Pairs well with American century plant, Prickly-pear, and Heavy Metal switchgrass.
