Silver knapweed (Centaurea ragusina) is a perennial for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun and dry soil of most types. It forms a mound of silver evergreen foliage that stays 12 to 24 inches tall and spreads 24 to 36 inches wide. It is drought tolerant and salt tolerant, so it suits tough spots.
