Notes

Skyblue aster (Symphyotrichum oolentangiense) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, meadows, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Blue petals surround a yellow center on long stalks. Butterflies and bees visit the flowers, and the plant tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Nodding onion, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and New Jersey tea.
