Notes

Slender mountain mint (Pycnanthemum tenuifolium) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, meadows, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to wet soil of most types. The stiff, upright clumps smell minty and bear small whitish flowers with purple spots. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms, and many animals eat the seeds.

Pairs well with Wild bergamot, Switchgrass, Blue star, and Black-eyed Susan.

Eastern North America.
