Notes

'Solfatare' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Solfatare') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Jacques Calot bred it. The fragrant white blooms have a light yellow center and open as a bomb shape before they form a crown. They appear in clusters from mid to late spring into early summer.

Pairs well with Blanket flower, Great blue lobelia, and Shrub rose.
