Notes
'Songbird Goldfinch' columbine (Aquilegia vulgaris 'Songbird Goldfinch') is a perennial for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It grows 12 to 24 inches tall and wide, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms in spring and again in summer. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. You can enjoy it with little fuss.
Pairs well with Foxglove, Siberian iris, and Purple Sensation ornamental onion.
