Notes
'Sops of Wine' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Sops of Wine') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its double, dark red flowers have a purple tint and open late in spring. The plant stays short and has stiff, wiry stems. Its long, narrow foliage curves back at the tips.
Pairs well with Aromatic aster, Queen of Night tulip, and Cinnamon fern.
