Notes

Species daffodil (Narcissus jonquilla) is a bulb for low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy soil. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Its fragrant yellow flowers open in early to late spring. It forms a clumping mound of green leaves and also tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Grape hyacinth, Festiva Maxima peony, and Monkshood.

Native range

Southern and central Spain and southern and eastern Portugal.
