Notes

Species daffodil (Narcissus poeticus) is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet soil of most types. The fragrant white flowers have a red-rimmed yellow cup and open in early to late spring. Bees and butterflies visit them. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Common snowdrop, Spanish bluebell, and Western sword fern.
