Notes
'Spielarten Mix Bee Balm' spotted beebalm (Monarda didyma 'Spielarten Mix Bee Balm') is an herb for borders, cut flowers, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. Its fragrant flowers draw butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds. It grows 24 to 47 inches tall and spreads 24 to 36 inches, so give it room. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.
Pairs well with Coneflower, Anise hyssop, Little bluestem, and Black-eyed Susan.
