Notes

'Spring Glory' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Spring Glory') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Large, globular deep red flowers have a blackish sheen under some lights and sit upright on strong stems of medium height. It is the first big red peony to bloom. Edward Auten, Jr bred it in 1960.

Pairs well with Wide Brim hosta, Royal fern, and Black Parrot tulip.
