Notes
'Starlite' wild indigo (Baptisia bicolor 'Starlite') is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers, which open in spring and again in summer. It is not a favorite of rabbits, though hungry rabbits will eat almost anything. It tolerates drought once settled in.
Pairs well with Hardy geranium, Album nettle-leaved mullein, and Blue grama.
