Notes

'Straight Up Red' false yucca (Hesperaloe parviflora 'Straight Up Red') is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, and hummingbird gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun. Long, arching, narrow leaves form an open clump. Many upright stems carry red flowers from early to late summer, and hummingbirds visit them. For more blooms, plant it in the hottest, sunniest spot you have, near stone, gravel, or concrete.

Pairs well with Prickly-pear, Ornamental onion, and Japanese forest grass.
