Notes

'Summer Solstice' sundrops (Oenothera fruticosa 'Summer Solstice') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, rock gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows 18 to 24 inches tall and spreads at least 24 inches, so give it room. Hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Pale purple coneflower, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Nodding onion.
