Notes

'Whirling Butterflies' gaura (Oenothera lindheimeri 'Whirling Butterflies') is a perennial for borders, containers, and xeriscape gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. White flowers open in late spring, early to late summer, and early to late autumn. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with May Night salvia, Feather reed grass, and Blue grama.
