Notes

'Sunjoy Sequins' Japanese barberry (Berberis thunbergii 'Sunjoy Sequins') is a shrub for pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Flowers open in early to late spring and draw bees, and birds visit too. It forms a dense shape and tolerates drought and salt. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Fragrant sumac, Indian grass, and Raspberry Sundae peony.
