Notes
Swamp jessamine (Gelsemium rankinii) is an evergreen vine for hedges, privacy screens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to wet soil. Yellow flowers open in late winter, spring, and autumn, and butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit them. Deer tend to pass it by. The glossy dark green leaves stay on the vine all year, and growth is rapid.
Pairs well with American wisteria, Cherry laurel, and Thalia.
