Notes

'Sweet Lavender' blue wood aster (Symphyotrichum cordifolium 'Sweet Lavender') is a perennial for pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Its erect stems carry blooms in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the flowers.

Pairs well with White Swan coneflower, Western sword fern, and Nodding onion.
