Notes

'Sweetheart' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Sweetheart') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears double pink flowers in mid to late spring. The blooms open at midseason, so you can enjoy them in the garden or cut them for a vase. Hollis bred it in 1909.

Pairs well with Rainforest Sunrise hosta, Incrediball Storm Proof smooth hydrangea, and Queen of Night tulip.
