Notes

Sycamore maple (Acer pseudoplatanus) is a tree for specimen planting, shade, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast into a rounded tree that reaches 40 to 60 feet tall and wide, so give it plenty of room. Yellow green flowers open in early to late spring and attract bees. It also tolerates drought and salt.

Pairs well with Chinese elm, Wide Brim hosta, and Flowering quince.
