Notes

Tapertip onion (Allium acuminatum) is a vegetable for the food garden. It is typically grown as an annual. Few crops handle cold as well, and with a little winter protection it grows on through light freezes. This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It sits low on the menu for deer. Bees visit the pink-purple blooms in spring and again in summer.

Pairs well with Red Sails lettuce, Thai basil, and Carmen pepper.
