Notes

'Ted Furrey' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Ted Furrey') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It is a tall, mid season Japanese type that blooms red in early summer. The flowers have long, narrow red staminodes. William Henry Krekler bred it.

Pairs well with Knapweed, Royal fern, and Invincibelle Ruby smooth hydrangea.
