Notes

'Temple of Portunus' peony (Paeonia 'Temple of Portunus') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Early blooming semi-double pink flowers have ruffled, light pink edges on upright stems that need no support. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Joshua Scholten bred it.

Pairs well with Queen of Night tulip, Switchgrass, Bobo hydrangea, and Love-in-a-mist.
