Notes

'Tethys' peony (Paeonia 'Tethys') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Ruffled, old rose flowers open in early to late spring. Sturdy stems hold the blooms upward, and the plant regrows from basal shoots each year.

Pairs well with Ironweed, Buffalo grass, and Nelly Moser clematis.
