Notes
'The Sultan' tulip (Tulipa 'The Sultan') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. The flowers are a deep purple black and open from early to late spring. E.H. Krelage & Son bred it, so it is an older type that you may find mostly in historical collections.
Pairs well with Bridal Crown daffodil, Spiked speedwell, and Little bluestem.
