Notes

'Thorndale' common ivy (Hedera helix 'Thorndale') is a groundcover for erosion control, shady slopes, and covering walls. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows at a rapid rate and stays evergreen. Birds visit it, and it tolerates drought and salt. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Wild ginger, Siebold's hosta, and Cinnamon fern.
