Notes

Thrift (Armeria maritima) is a perennial for rock gardens, borders, containers, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Pink to white flowers sit atop slender stalks in spring and again in summer, and bees and butterflies visit them. Deer tend to browse other plants first. The narrow leaves form dense evergreen tussocks.

Pairs well with Blue grama, Sundrops, and Heather.
