Notes
'Splendens' thrift (Armeria maritima 'Splendens') is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, containers, and low maintenance planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil of most types. Reddish-pink flowers open in spring and again in summer, and bees and butterflies visit them. Deer rarely make it their first choice. This slow growing, evergreen clump handles drought and salt.
Pairs well with Blue fescue, Irish moss, and Blue Star common juniper.
