Notes
'Alba' thrift (Armeria maritima 'Alba') is a perennial for borders, containers, rock gardens, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil of most types. White flowers appear in early to late spring and again in early to late summer, and bees and butterflies visit them. It sits low on the menu for deer. The slow, clumping evergreen tufts stay 3 to 6 inches tall.
Pairs well with Blue fescue, Heather, and Blue grama.
