Notes
'Thume' Colorado spruce (Picea pungens 'Thume') is a tree for specimen, accent, privacy screen, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy or clay soil. It grows slowly into a columnar evergreen that reaches 3 to 8 feet tall and wide. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. It also tolerates drought once established.
Pairs well with Winterberry, Black Hero tulip, and Common snowberry.
