Notes

Trident maple (Acer buergerianum) is a tree for specimen planting, shade gardens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows at a moderate rate to 20 to 30 feet tall and wide. Greenish-yellow flowers open in spring and draw bees, and the foliage turns gold and yellow. It also tolerates drought and salt.

Pairs well with Black gum, Autumn fern, Sedge, and American holly.
