Notes

'Ubric' blood currant (Ribes sanguineum 'Ubric') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Fragrant flowers open from early to late spring and draw hummingbirds, bees, and birds. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Its arching stems grow at a rapid rate, so give it room.

Pairs well with Creeping phlox, Little bluestem, and False indigo.
