Notes
'Lombartsii' blood currant (Ribes sanguineum 'Lombartsii') is a shrub for borders, hedges, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer tend to pass it by. Fragrant flowers open from early to late spring and draw hummingbirds, bees, and birds. It has an arching shape and grows at a rapid rate.
Pairs well with Beautyberry, Amsonia, and Little bluestem.
