Notes

'Vandalia' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Vandalia') is a perennial for borders, cut flower use, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The full double white flowers open in late spring to early summer and have a rose fragrance. Some narrow petals mix with the wider center petals. Stiff stems hold the blooms upright, and Edward Auten, Jr bred it.

Pairs well with Columbine, Butterfly milkweed, and Blue sage.
