Notes

'Vesuvius' rose (Rosa 'Vesuvius') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. Samuel McGredy II bred it in 1923. The dark red blooms are fragrant and appear in late spring, summer, and early autumn, and bees visit them.

Pairs well with David garden phlox, Lilac, and Switchgrass.
