Notes

'David' garden phlox (Phlox paniculata 'David') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy, clay, or chalky soil. White, fragrant flowers open from early to late summer and again in early autumn. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Spotted joe-pye weed, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Phantom panicle hydrangea.
