Notes

Strawberry (Fragaria virginiana) is a fruit for food gardens, ground cover, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is grown for fresh eating, and the tasty wild berries also attract wildlife. White flowers open in clusters in spring and again in summer. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Canadian white violet, Whorled milkweed, and Chicory.
