Notes

'Washington Elite' peony (Paeonia 'Washington Elite') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, single, fragrant flowers are carmine-red and attract bees and butterflies. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. William Henry Krekler bred it.

Pairs well with Fragrant Bouquet hosta, Nodding onion, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
