Notes
'Watanabei' Japanese snowball (Viburnum plicatum 'Watanabei') is a shrub for borders, specimen plantings, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast into a dense shrub that reaches 4 to 6 feet tall and wide. White blooms open from early to late spring and attract bees and butterflies. The leaves turn a new color in fall.
Pairs well with Japanese maple, Coral Charm peony, and Blue Mouse Ears hosta.
