Notes
'West Midlands Bigarreau' sweet cherry (Prunus avium 'West Midlands Bigarreau') is a tree for food gardens and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun. The tree grows in a columnar shape and blooms from early to late spring. Bees and butterflies visit the flowers. It is grown for fresh eating, and it is not self-fertile, so plant a second cherry nearby for fruit.
Pairs well with Showy milkweed, Paper birch, and Mount Hood daffodil.
