Notes

'Lapins' sweet cherry (Prunus avium 'Lapins') is a tree for borders, food gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil of most types. It is grown for eating fresh, and it is self-fertile, so one tree can set fruit. Pink spring blooms draw butterflies, bees, and birds. Summerland Research Station introduced it in 1984.

Pairs well with Crab apple, Chardonnay grape, Garlic chives, and Perennial candytuft.
