Notes
White panicle aster (Symphyotrichum lanceolatum) is a perennial for low maintenance beds, woodland gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn, with white, pink, blue, or violet flowers. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the blooms, and the plant tolerates drought.
Pairs well with Spotted joe-pye weed, Switchgrass, and Sensitive fern.
