Notes

'Zebra Blue' oxlip (Primula elatior 'Zebra Blue') is a perennial for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Its striped, fragrant flowers attract bees and bloom from late winter to late spring. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Divide it every three years or so to keep it vigorous.

Pairs well with White Feather hosta, Gertrude Jekyll rose, and Gladiator ornamental onion.
