Notes

Primula (Primula vialii) is a perennial for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Scarlet red buds open to lavender pink flowers on upright spikes. It bulks up quickly and sends up many flower spikes over a long period. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Gentian, Grape hyacinth, and Blue mistflower.
