Notes
'Zebrina' common mallow (Malva sylvestris 'Zebrina') is a perennial for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Pink flowers with burgundy-red veins open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn, and butterflies and bees visit the blooms. It sits low on the menu for rabbits.
Pairs well with Sweet William, Plenum Violaceum hardy geranium, Licorice plant, and Japanese forest grass.
