Notes

Allegheny spurge (Pachysandra procumbens) is a perennial for ground cover, shade gardens, woodland areas, and naturalized spaces. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to moist soil of most types. Fragrant white flower spikes appear in spring. The scalloped leaves are mottled with silver, and the plant spreads slowly by rhizomes. Shelter from north winds helps it stay evergreen.

Pairs well with Woodland phlox, Oakleaf hydrangea, and Autumn fern.
