Notes

'Altifolius' black hellebore (Helleborus niger 'Altifolius') is a perennial for shade gardens, borders, containers, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to average soil. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It forms a slow growing, clumping mound up to 18 inches tall with white blooms. The foliage is evergreen, and the plant is drought tolerant.

Pairs well with Regal Splendor hosta, Autumn crocus, Cutleaf toothwort, and China Town tulip.
